Motorcycle Front Number Plate Petition

The issue of front ID/front number plates for motorcycles has been on the government's agenda for years. Recently the Motorcycle Riders Association of Australia had published a article outlining VicRoads attempted to pass legislation on the issue.

Not only is this a problem for Victorians, but for all Australian motorcyclists as this could be a nation wide introduction of "Front ID's".

Williamstown Motorcycle Club Festival Video

Sam Steele & that famous Centenary T-Shirt

Now wouldn't this be a classic t-shirt to own, it'll definitely be a classic, obviously because of the girl that was modelling it.

I wonder if it's still available, go on then, be a true biker and show some support for Melbourne's famous Elizabeth Street by buying this classic SOUVENIR TEE SHIRTS, featuring a logo designed by renowned Melbourne cartoonist, Jock, and modeled by Sam Steele, they were only $25 at the time, wonder how much they are now?

They were available from the following shops back then, 2003:

* The Bike Barn 03 9602 4269
* Cosway Motorcycle 03 9663 4565
* Garner's Hire Bikes 03 9326 8676
* Peter Stevens 03 9602 5833
* Scooter City 03 9602 3119

or direct from NMC 03 9846 8621.

For mail orders add $5 postage.

I think the picture attached to this message would have sold better as a poster rather than the t-shirt.

Harley Davidson V-Rod

Yesterday, I, The Chief at Motorbike Transport was invited to the stable of George Athan and boy was I impressed.

I arrived around 8pm, we just started losing the sun light, George comes to greet me with his big smile and presses the remote control of one of his garages, the garage with the toys, a C5 Corvette, 1992 Harley Davidson Fat Boy with only 18,000 kilometers, his Custom Chopper and his unbelievably cool and unique Harley Davidson V-Rod that has one many awards.

The Corvette is something quite special, it is a 2001 model that has only covered 35,000 kilometres, a black beauty with polished alloys, $5,000 exhaust and currently for sale for $82,000AUD, George says it's time to buy an old classic Mustang, something that the whole family can enjoy.

The Fat Boy was George's first Harley Davidson, he purchased it brand new. George really spoiled himself and went all out with the brakes, pipes, head work, exhaust, this bike is something special and apparently sounds awesome.

In regards to the Custom Chopper, George is slowly building this bike, he purchased a 113 cube S & S engine, a frame from the US, designed the guards himself, and hes going chain drive, rims from the US, made the seat himself, quite a handyman, very impressive.

Now the V-Rod (above) is the all out custom, George has left nothing alone on this one and spent an enormous amount of money and time to get this V-Rod to where he wanted it. After purchasing the V-Rod, it stayed two years in his garage untouched all the while George was putting his plans on paper on how he would achieve one of the most beautiful and unique V-Rod's in the entire world. The rear tyre is a 280, a special swing arm was manufactured out of billet from a guy in Germany, specially commissioned by George himself. The induction system is all genuine Harley Davidson, the rims were designed by George and given to Dragway to build, the tank and rear guard are carbon fibre, he's had 35 kilos shed from this baby, this bike is one very very serious Harley Davidson V-Rod. The paint job is mind blowing and the air suspension is so cool. This V-Rod blew me away.

George, congratulations on a dream stable worth every penny.

Andrew Denton, Lindsay Fox & The Chief

The Motorbike Transport Chief meets with Andrew Denton and Lindsay Fox at the ABC studios.

The Chief of Motorbike Transport says, Andrew Denton and Lindsay Fox are such lovely down to earth people, they have such an interesting and amazing story to tell.

Lindsay found me quite hilarious, especially when I told him that Falcon GT HO's are now worth around $800,000, Lindsay then says that there is only one problem there, I don't own one.

Andrew Denton was curious as to how I would be able to assist him in his "Catching The Corporate Criminals" crusade.

The Chief was quite impressed with both these outstanding public figures, it was an honor to be in their company.

New 2008 Harley Davidson

The Motorbike Transport Chief was invited to test ride the new 2008 model Harley Davidson at Ringwood's Harley Heaven - Melbourne, Australia.

I got to ride the Ultra Glide and V-Rod, from one extreme to the other. The Ultra Glide was so beautiful and luxurious, stereo on, cruise control, sitting up nice and high, it was quite a special ride, I thoroughly enjoyed the Ultra Glide, something I would definitely love to have in the stable.

As for the V-Rod, well, this is another kettle of fish. It is quite weird, you know you are on a Harley Davidson but it is a sports Harley Davidson, something thats takes a while to get used to. The seating position is very sporty, you feel like a speed demon, it has plenty of torque and power, I give it the thumbs up. I know the V-Rods image has always taken a bettering and that a true Harley Davidson enthusiast wont go near it and will not accept it as a Harley, but I feel quite contrary to this notion, I am a Harley Davidson rider and lover and I quite enjoyed the overall feeling of the V-Rod. There was a bunch of us on the ride and guess who was always in front of the pack, not that it was some sort of race but the 2 V-Rods and the Sportster were the bikes up at the front of the pack.

All in all, I had a great day, I thank Harley Heaven for the invitation and look forward to the next test ride day.

Ride on Brothers, Motorbike Transport Chief.

Acheson Place, Coburg,What a show

Saturday, November 3rd, Acheson Place, Coburg:-

Jeannie Lushes & The Bad Blues Boys, Prozac Choppers, Python choppers all made this event something special. The band was playing some awesome music and there was an abundance of great bikes on show.

Buying your first Motorcycle

You've learned your motorcycle basics, taken a safety course, and decided to take the plunge and buy your first bike?

Here are a few pointers before you make that big purchase.

Don't underestimate your ability. One common mistake among new riders is to purchase a bike with far more performance than they can handle. Stay away from road racers, especially anything with an engine larger than 600cc, learn to ride on a slower bike, you'll become a better rider because of it. Plus, after you've honed your skills and gained experience, you'll be ready to upgrade and truly appreciate a faster bike.

Consider your needs. Will you be riding in lots of traffic? Traveling long distances? Motorcycles come in many shapes and sizes, and you must consider your individual needs when picking a bike. Consider how you'll be using your bike, and how riding it will impact your experience; for instance, if you're looking for a weekend toy, you might be more tolerant of a sexy bike that happens to be uncomfortable. Recognizing your needs will make choosing your future bike become infinitely easier.

Whatever you do, make sure you get a professional pre purchase inspection, someone like ww.MotorbikeTransport.com.au that have a great reputation, it's only a little insurance"

The Ducati Desmosedici RR

The most important journalists, yes, including the Chief of Motorbike Transport were invited to test the Desmosedici-RR, which included a complete text book explanation of the engine, chassis and tyres by Ducati engineers.

DUCATI DESMOSEDICI RR IS THE ULTIMATE DUCATI
A true GP replica has finally come and the Desmosedici RR will be the first ever road going motorcycle to offer such stunning performance and technology that come directly from Ducati's experience in MotoGP. The RR derives from the Ducati Corse Grand Prix racing Desmosedici GP6, the same bike with which Loris Capirossi and Sete Gibernau competed with in the 2006 MotoGP World Championship.

The design and aerodynamics reflect the Desmosedici GP6. The colour scheme, fittings, materials used in its construction as well as the technical features of the powerful four cylinder desmodromic engine built by the Borgo Panigale factory engineers, leave no doubts whatsoever: the Desmosedici RR is the ultimate expression of the most extreme MotoGP racing machine today.

This is a dream come true, which demonstrates once again the courage and the passion of Ducati, as well as the ability to transfer the experience of the racing world to a machine that is destined for road use.

PRODUCTION AND DELIVERY SCHEDULE
Desmosedici RR reservationshave were accepted via official Ducati dealers since 2nd June 2006. Ducati will begin producing the 1500 limited edition motorcycles in October 2007 and first deliveries will be made to 999R owners who placed their Desmosedici RR order before 30 September 2006. Production of all remaining orders will be completed by December 2008.

Motorcycle Parking on CBD footpaths

NOT

For the record:

I, The Chief @ www.MotorbikeTransport.com.au, oppose Cr Peter Clarke regarding his proposal to fine motorcycles parking on CBD footpaths in Melbourne.

It is absolutely ludicrous and disgusting, he should be ashamed of himself.

Cr Peter Clarke should look at promoting the safe use of motorcycles and scooters within the Melbourne CBD.

It would be a move in the right direction for our community and environment and it would make Melbourne City a much nicer place to visit, imagine, less congestion, less pollution, a cleaner city.

Ride On I say - Motorbike Transport Chief.
